Leveraging metacognition in students and educators

Have you seen students copying down notes from slides without processing it? Have you found yourself not remembering anything from a paragraph or page of text you just read? To improve the quality of understanding it's necessary to interact with the learning the process and not just the material itself. In this workshop we will talk about metacognition, evidence of its importance, and discuss strategies for fostering student's abilities to self-regulate their learning.
