SUMMARY:Universal Design: Making Learning Accessible (CFP Education Workshop Series)
DESCRIPTION:
	Universal Design: Making Learning Accessible

	Mara Laslo, Ph.D.

Curriculum Fellow, Developmental and Regenerative Biology

As teachers, we want to engage all students in our classroom. But students enter the classroom with differing backgrounds, learning styles, and cultural factors that may represent barriers to learning. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework for making courses, activities, and assessments that engage all students and remove barriers to learning. In the workshop, we will evaluate benefits of designing courses or activities with UDL and brainstorm ways to incorporate UDL into an online or blended learning course. Participants should bring a learning objective that they will use to design an assessment or assignment using UDL principles.
