The Harvard Medical School (HMS) Curriculum Fellows Program (CFP) invites applications for a Curriculum Fellow in Developmental and Regenerative Biology (DRB) to develop and support educational programming in the DRB graduate program administered by the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, the first cross-school department in the University. The CFP is a postdoctoral service and training program focused on curriculum development, teaching, and educational programming in the biological and biomedical sciences. The Curriculum Fellow (CF) in DRB will primarily work with DRB leadership and faculty to develop, implement, and assess educational programming aligned with current demands of the training landscape and which will prepare DRB students for success in a wide range of careers. Fellows also receive mentorship and career advising to support their development as educators and help them succeed in a variety of education-focused careers. Specific Responsibilities:
•    Work closely with the faculty directors to organize and oversee the core graduate course in DRB (“Experimental Approaches to Developmental Biology”) to develop course materials and assessments, coordinate TA activities, and manage online course content
•    Organize and implement DRB orientation programming
•    Provide academic support to DRB faculty to facilitate the creation of new elective courses
•    Organize and participate in activities to build and foster a sense of community among the graduate community across campuses (particularly Longwood and Cambridge)
•    Participate in other key courses and programs of interest taught on either the Longwood or Cambridge campuses
•    Help to collect and organize information on program alumni

•    An earned doctorate in developmental biology or related field
•    Experience teaching graduate or undergraduate students 
•    Postdoctoral research and/or teaching experience is preferred but not required 

Job Skills and Competencies:
•    Broad content knowledge in the field of developmental biology that will enable the CF to effectively partner with faculty to design new educational resources 
•    Ability to work collaboratively with multiple faculty and administrative partners across different campuses to develop new courses and educational/training opportunities 
•    Experience applying pedagogical best practices to the classroom, including evidence-based teaching methods and technological innovations 
•    Strong oral and written communication skills, strict attention to detail 
•    Strong organizational and administrative skills and the ability to successfully plan and implement programs and events 
•    Ability to work independently to identify and implement optimal solutions to diverse problems

The CF’s appointment is renewable annually for a maximum of three years, and is non-tenure-track. Fellows are appointed as research associates, with possible promotion to the rank of Lecturer contingent on experience and performance. 

The ideal start date is Summer/Fall 2019 at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Candidates will be interviewed by phone or Skype before selections are made for on-campus interviews.
