How to Communicate Effectively Using Powerpoint
Alireza Edraki , PhD
Curriculum Fellow in Leder Human Biology Program
Should I use animations in my presentation? What color should the background be? What font size is appropriate? How much text is too much?
You have probably had similar questions while designing slides. Presentation programs such as PowerPoint and Keynote have become the mainstay of modern communication, from classrooms to business meetings. They are easy to produce and update, and they enable visualization of complex ideas. However, poorly designed slideshows can detract from the intended message for even the most experienced presenters.
In this interactive workshop, you will learn about evidence-based approaches to make certain your slides serve as a visual aid and not a visual distraction. We will discuss the importance of the design, content, and other components of an effective slideshow. You will also hear about the experiences of the other attendees.
