Panel Discussion: Understanding Interview Day(s) and the Tenure Process in Different Academic Settings

 

In this facilitated discussion, attendees will benefit from the perspective of current department chairs and senior faculty members who have experience interviewing candidates for junior faculty positions and evaluating faculty at the promotion and tenure phases.  Panelists will be able to share experience from a diverse array of academic institutions: Boston University, Emmanuel College, Harvard Medical School and Wellesley College.  Attendees will learn about the interview process at these institutions, how they are designed to identify candidates likely to be successful in their respective environments, and what success on the tenure track at these institutions requires. PANEL AND DISCUSSION: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PMRECEPTION TO FOLLOW: 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM Open to all members of the Harvard Medical School Community.
